James Bryant, Ph.D.
James was an inquisitive child and enjoyed learning new things from an early age. However, James came to believe that the process of learning was made more difficult as he felt that neither the process to assemble understanding nor the philosophy behind things were explained (i.e., the underlying conserved informational rules that make things work and subjects understandable).
James grew up in a small rural village in Britain. Although not formally diagnosed with dyslexia, he found learning and successfully completing most tasks overwhelming and frightening. As did his two driving instructors and half the population of the small town where he learned to drive.
By the age of 16 James was in both remedial (English) and advanced (Science) classes. However, he persevered with his academic challenges and eventually attended college; where he acquired a B.Sc. with honors in Applied Biology. Following college, James went on to acquire a Ph.D., within the U.S.A., in Molecular Biology & Immunology, and carried out post-doctoral research, within the U.K. at Cambridge University, developing embryonic stem cell assay systems to identify cancer therapies.
James has worked in various organizations: designing & employing applied experimental systems, establishing research facilities & programs, designing & implementing computer networks, and developing effective teaching strategies and curriculum. Most recently James has spent over a decade teaching, and learning how to teach, critical thinking and self-learning skills through complex subjects, such as: Biostatistics, Immunology, Immunology Laboratory, and Human Physiology.
Through his experiences in life, work, academia, and the study of immunology and philosophy, James learned how to learn; in a world where he found the amount of information daunting and correctly integrating that information into a 'comprehensive' whole understanding challenging.
James founded The Bry-man Group to help others (people and teams) to succeed and sustainably resolve complex real world challenges within their lives, businesses, and the environment; through the application of the Sapient Method®.
The Sapient Method is a single technique that guides individuals, teams, businesses, and organizations to: self-learn, 'comprehensively' understand, and resolve challenges within any subject or discipline to sustainably succeed through optimal win-win decisions.
We provide people within groups (e.g., churches, colleges and universities, businesses, organizations, or any on in society) with the Sapient Method; a guiding pathway for people to actively, collaboratively, and mindfully 'see the wood for the trees' (i.e, build 'comprehensive' understanding).
We help individuals (in teams) to confidently see how to: reach objectives, design projects, avoid unforeseen problems, optimally resolve challenges, and sustainably succeed.
The Sapient Method empowers people to become confident and independent life long self-learners, who are able to assemble correct (whole and integrated) understanding, effectively resolve novel challenges, and sustainably and wisely create within the real world.
Through the Sapient Method and the accompanying assembly of 'comprehensive' understanding individuals and teams are able to use their real world understanding to: guide the selection of objectives, appreciate the optimal path to meet objectives, identify challenges and resolutions to challenges, reach win-win decisions, and see the path to sustainable success.
Succeeding, achieving, mastering, learning, and retaining all benefit from people questioning, discussing, working and actively practicing together.
Therefore, we provide people (in teams) with customized:
- 1) active workshops and training courses introducing the Sapient Method for:
- visualizing, learning, mastering, teaching, and achieving - 2) guidance for problem resolution within projects, experiments, and surveys
- 3) active training courses for the mastery of intellectual tools
- e.g., elements of statistics, visualization of information and understandings.
Through the Sapient Method, we guide individuals within teams to experience:
- - the steps of problem resolution,
- - real world information structures (e.g., for sustainability and to resolve problems),
- - how to build, visualize, and integrate the various types of understanding,
- - building shared understanding to reach optimal and sustainable consensus decisions,
- - using comprehensive understanding to maintain and repair health (i.e., of any system).
We produce self-help resources (i.e., books, videos, and animations) to introduce and explain the Sapient Method and its accompanying intellectual tools which help people to see, understand, and plan their journey from ideas to productive, successful, and sustainable accomplishments.
Our materials contribute to individual’s active ability to confidently: question, visualize, and learn from any information to mindfully see (i.e., comprehensively understand) the tapestry of the big picture (i.e., the conserved informational networks that underlie, define, and regulate all of the systems within the physical world).
Our materials are designed to be simple, modular, and scalable to help with the self-learning and mastery of the guiding Sapient Method or its accompanying (stand-alone) intellectual tools that simplify the tasks of assembling and communicating our understanding.
Our resources are optimized to maximize the guidance of individuals toward confidently knowing how to design and complete whole projects, and sustainably resolve challenges along the journey to reaching and maintaining their goals; through the correct selection and employment of the right method and tools for the job.
Our blog provides a forum for the posting of articles, where individuals can view and appreciate the use of the Sapient Method, and intellectual tools, to build a ‘comprehensive’ understanding of subjects that are of general interest, topical, and which pervade our daily lives.
